Description

78 cards + a title card and advertising card + an LWB in a standard cardboard tuck box.

The cards measure 12 cm tall x 6.6 cm wide. The card stock is very flexible, with a smooth, matte finish. This deck could easily be riffle-shuffled without damage.

The card backs are non-reversible.

Strenth is VIII and Justice is XI. The Fool is numbered 0.

Suits are Chalices, Swords, Pentacles, and Wands. The court cards are Elemental (Page), Novice (Knight), Initiate (Queen), and Elder (King).

The minor arcana are scenic, and mostly follow the RWS tradition.

On a personal note, I deeply dislike this deck. The art doesn't appeal to me, and I find some of the scenes off putting. Look at the Death card, for instance. Are we supposed to see this as an initiation and rebirth (suggested by the butterfly)? Or are we supposed to notice--or not notice--that a group of older men with torches are blindfolding a younger woman and leading her off somewhere?

It's just not to my taste. At least it's a deck I acquired at a significant discount.
