Original Tarot Cards
Subject
Linocut art
Description
78 cards + 3 informational cards in a cardboard box with a hinged lid. No LWB or booklet was included.
The cards are about playing card-sized, measuring 6 cm wide x 10 cm long. The card stock is reasonably flexible, with a smooth finish. The finish isn't really matte, but it's not glossy, either.
The card backs are non-reversible.
Strength is VIII and Justice is XI. The Fool is numbered 0.
Suits are Swords, Pentacles, Wands, and Cups. The court cards are Page, Knight, Queen, and King.
The minor arcana are scenic.
In terms of system and art style, this deck is a linocut take on the RWS, though it's not a straight clone. I see TdM influences in some cards, especially in the majors. And a few cards seem to have Thoth and even Etteilla influences.
The cards are titled in 4 languages: Czech, English, German, and French.
This is a delightful, usable, and affordable deck. I purchased it through Etsy in February 2020 for under $30.
