True Love Tarot
Dublin Core
Title
True Love Tarot
Subject
Love and romance
Description
78 cards and a 161-page softcover guidebook packaged together in a set inside a sturdy cardboard shelf box that opens like a book. The deck itself is contained in a tuck box that nests inside the shelf box.
The cards measure 5 inches tall x 3 inches wide. The cardstock is reasonably flexible, but thin, and feels as if it could be easily bent or creased. I'd recommend shuffling with caution. The card have a smooth, mostly matte finish.
The card back design is fully reversible.
Strength is 8 and Justice is 11. The Fool is numbered 0.
The suits have been renamed as follows:
Roses = Wands
Wings = Swords
Shells = Cups
Gems = Coins
The court cards are Princess (Page), Prince (Knight), Queen, and King.
The minor arcana are pips with basic arrangements of suit symbols.
And now for a bit of advice. If you are seeking a deck by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber, try the Enchanted Tarot or the Zerner-Farber Tarot.
The True Love Tarot, on the other hand, is awful; it's an example of everything bad about "gift shop" tarots. The quality of the book is nicer than that of the cards, and the overall set packaging is designed to look appealing on the shelf and to look expensive, but then the cards are an utter disappointment. The pips are a last-minute afterthought of graphic design, and don't fit artistically with the majors and court cards.
