Harry Potter Tarot
Dublin Core
Title
Harry Potter Tarot
Subject
Harry Potter
Description
78 cards + a signed title card + an extra card that has the Hogwarts coat of arms printed on both sides. No LWB or box was included. The deck came in a flimsy, undersized organza drawstring bag, but I have since moved my copy to a lined fabric case with a red/gold/black pattern.
Cards measure 12.6 cm tall x 7.2 cm wide.
The card back design is non-reversible and features the Hogwarts coat of arms.
The card stock is thin and very flexible, with smooth, just slightly glossed finish.
Suits are Wands, Cups, Swords, and Disks. Courts are Princess, Prince, Queen, and King.
Justice is 8 and Strength is 11. The Fool is numbered 0. The minors are both numbered and titled, with Thoth style titles.
The minors are scenic, though not all scenes feature people or complex interactions. The art is black and white and richly detailed. Many of the characters depicted are clearly modeled on the actors from the movies.
The arrangement of scenes and suit symbols reveals both a RWS and a Thoth influence, though there is significant departure from both traditions.
Though the printed year of publication on the title card is 2008, my title card is signed by the artist with a signed date of 2012.
