Description
78 cards with no title card, no LWB, and no box. I purchased my copy used, so I'm not certain what the deck would have originally come with or how it was originally packaged. The cards show distinct signs of use (wear around the edges and a softening of the card stock), but are otherwise in very good condition with no creases or tears or stains.
The cards are larger than average, measuring 13.2 cm tall x 7.6 cm wide (5 1/8 inches tall x 3 inches wide). It's the size that differentiates for certain from the later (1994) publication of this deck by Fournier. The Fournier edition is smaller.
The card stock is flexible with a matte finish.
The backs are reversible.
Justice is 8, Strength is 11, and the Fool is numbered 0.
The card titles are in both English and Polish. Each of the major arcana also have an alchemical title at the top.
The minors are plain (non-scenic), but covered in symbolism.
Suits are Pentacles, Swords, Cups, and Wands. Courts are Knave, Knight, Queen, and King.
Incidentally, the name of the Polish publisher is said to translate loosely to "Hungry Ghost Publishing House" -- hence this being referred to as the Hungry Ghost edition (I learned this information from the review by Tarot Garden published on Aeclectic Tarot).
