Description

82 cards in a standard cardboard tuck box. No LWB came with my copy, which I purchased used. The cards are in excellent condition but the box shows wear. A sticker on the bottom of the box gives the price as $15.95 USD.

Cards measure 10.8 cm tall x 7 cm wide.

Backs are non-reversible. Cards have a matte finish and are flexible enough to be shuffled.

The art is colorful and vibrant, and the cards have an abundance of symbolism and correspondences, to the point that I find it a bit distracting. The minors are fully scenic.

There's an extra court card in each suit -- The Mentor. Hence this is an 82 card deck (78 cards + 4 Mentors).

Strength is 8 and Justice is 11. The Fool is numbered as 0.

Suits are Wands, Cups, Disks, and Swords. Courts are Princess, Prince, Queen, King, and Mentor.

Curiously, the box states that the Parrott tarot is based on the RWS, but upon close examination, it seems much more heavily based on the Crowley Thoth, especially in the minors, which bear the Thoth titles.

Information regarding the year of publication is hard to find; the Mystic Eye lists the year as 1998, but this is the only site I found with this information. Even the Tarot Garden doesn't list a year.

When I look very closely at the copyright information in fine print on the backs of the cards themselves, it appears to read 1991.

My copy was not accompanied by an LWB; I'm not sure if it originally would have had one or not.
