This deck is a somewhat simplified version of Robert Place's earlier Alchemical Tarot -- as it states on the box, "distilled to its essence."
The cards measure 4 inches tall x 3 inches wide.Â
The card stock is mildly flexible, but it is too stiff for riffle shuffling. The cards have a delightfully smooth, flat matte finish, and the card borders have gold foil edging.
Card backs are non-reversible.
Disposition (Judgment) is VIII and Fermentation (Strength) is XI. The Fool card is an unnumbered, untitled Joker.
Suits are Coins, Cups, Swords, and Batons. Court cards are Lady, Knight, Queen, and King.Â
The minor arcana are somewhere between illustrated and scenic -- like the majors, they are minimalistic and iconic.
