Subject

Playing cards

Description

80 cards plus a LWB in a plastic swivel-lidded box, which slides into an outer cardboard sleeve.

Despite the long and oversized packaging, the cards themselves are about playing card sized. The cardstock and finish/feel of the cards is pleasant to handle; slick and sturdy without being shiny or sticky. Very similar to how a deck of actual playing cards might feel.

Consists of 22 majors, 56 minors, and 2 "consultant" or significator cards (male and female).

Card art is somewhere between illustrated and fully scenic. While the minors aren't pips by any means, they don't contain fully realized scenes packed with symbolism, either.

The 22 major arcana are recognizable as being in the TdM tradition. But the minors? They more strongly resemble fortune-telling playing cards than any type of tarot structure.

Card backs are non-reversible.

Suits are typical playing card suits -- Spades, Diamonds, Clubs, and Hearts.

The publication date of 1979 is from Tarot Garden's database; there is absolutely NOTHING on the cards, LWB, or box that indicates a date.
