Complete Set of Tarot Cards
Dublin Core
Title
Subject
Description
78 cards plus a small foldout sheet of card meanings and a much larger foldout sheet with a Celtic Cross chart.
Cards measure 10.5 cm tall x 6.2 cm wide.
The card stock is flexible, with a matte finish, and feels a little bit flimsy.
Card backs are reversible.
The images are that of the standard Rider Waite Smith, but the lines are often blurry and the colors are more garish than that of the U.S. Games copy. The printing is sometimes "spotty" as well -- i.e. small spots with no color.
Each of the major aracana has a string of keywords across the bottom. Each of the minor aracana has a suggested meaning at the bottom. The meanings often have little to do with the image itself.
As with the typical RWS, Strength is 8, Justice is 11, and the Fool is numbered 0.
Suits are the typical Pentacles, Wands, Swords, and Cups. Courts are the typical Page, Knight, Queen, and King.
At the time of this writing (July 2011), this deck can still be purchased new for $12.99, directly from The Shackman Store website: http://www.shackman.com/retail/product_info.php?products_id=1961
By the way, I believe this to be the same deck that is also published by Merrimack. I suspect they come from the same source/printer.
There is no date anywhere on the cards, accompanying materials, or box.
